Jocko Maggiacomo Jr. started car #63 in 22 of his 23 career starts. Jocko, a driver from Poughkeepsie, New York, began his career as a sports car racer, and won the 1976 SCCA Trans Am Category 1 Championship. Starting in 1977, Jocko started racing in select Winston  Cup Series events- mostly in the northeast.

Jocko was Unable to avoid a spinning Bobby Allison in the 1988 Miller High Life 500 at Pocono. The t-bone crash with Maggiacomo ended Allison’s driving career. According to Maggiacomo’s autobiography, he chose to end his career too out of post-trauma stress disorder and guilt of t-boning Allison. Watkins Glen 1988 would be Jocko’s final career start.
